I had the blues but I shook them loose

Bombay Bicycle Club are a band that are very close to my romantically lead heart, they are a band I listen to to make me feel at ease, a band to cheer me up and over everything give me that feeling of comfort and homeliness that I need. Whoever knows me that is reading this will laugh at the fact that I need a feeling of home, as I speak to my mum everyday and live at home 3 days of the work, YES I am very close to my family, I don't think I'll ever cut the chord! ha!
A photo my brother took in London

Yet... this security blanket of an album is not one I have shared with many people, I have never gone on about them to friends, rarely picked them out on my ipod at someone's house... but every time I turn on my iPod and I'm a little unsure of what to listen to I always know I'm going to enjoy listening to this album. To me this album has the same sentiment that The Maccabees does. I know the lyrics, I know what song comes next and the melody inside out and back to front. This album, for me, takes you out of wherever you are - I worry... A LOT (God knows why since I have the perfect little life with the best family I could ask for!). But for a song to take my mind completely away from my troubles has to have some power to it I tell you!

Bombay Bicycle Club are very Alternative, I don't think I've ever been a fan of that word to describe the vast world of indie music as people like you and me get described as Alternative too. Better words that spring to mine about this band are different, exciting and unique. These lovely boys are from Crouch End in London. Jack Steadman, Jamie MacColl, Ed Nash and Suren de Saram are who comprise the band, after their big debut at V Festival things have only ever looked up for the boys.
They used to be a called the Canals, but landed on the the name Bombay Bicylce Club named after a chain of Indian restaurants in London. The picture my brother took for is one of these restaurants, and Lewis must have been on the ball to spot this restaurant and take a picture for me on a moving coach! Well Done Lew! I am shortly getting this picture printed and blown up to add to what will be lots of memories and art work when I get my own place! Dedicated fan or what?!?!

The lyrics are not only romantic sometimes but are quite real and emotional, the lead singer is a very odd sound. But in the same way that it is emotional I can't imagine any other voice singing those lyrics. Favourite songs?

"Cancel On Me"
 Dreaming of you pushing up to me;

And I know where it's going to lead.
Dreaming of you rushing up to me;
And you know it's where you want to be

Evening//Morning

The Hill

And my favourite one that completely chills me out has to be
The Giantess// This song is so relaxed

So Please have a little listen and enjoy their music, they will definitely be at your big festivals this year I hope!
